« I've been Mayor of Pélican Ville for over twenty years! No one ever runs against me when it's time for an election. I like to think that it means I'm doing my job well. I like being Mayor. »
— Lewis

After entering into Pelican Town after 7PM, you will appear behind Lewis' house. Lewis and Marnie are talking by the river about making their romance public. Lewis says it would undermine his authority, while Marnie says he's too concerned for his job. In the end, Marnie says she'll keep their relationship a secret. Afterwards, you'll pop up and scare both Lewis and Marnie. Lewis asks you if you heard anything.
"Yes... but I'll keep it a secret."(+50 amitié.) Lewis responds, "Thank you <your name>. I won't forget this."
"Yes... and I'm going to tell everyone."(-100 amitié.) Lewis responds, "*sob* ... I can't believe you would do that... You're terrible."
Afterwards, Marnie will ask why you were hiding behind the house, and your character will run away, leaving the two alone and confused.

"Mayor's Shorts": Lewis will send you a letter on the 3rd of Summer explaining that he lost his shorts and offers a reward of data-sort-value="750">750po to anyone who finds and returns them to him discreetly. You earn data-sort-value="750">750po and 1 Friendship heart for completing the quest.
If instead the player chooses to place the shorts in their Grange display during Fall, Mayor Lewis will instead be upset, calling it a "sick joke" and pay the player off with 750 Star Tokens, demanding they return his shorts the following day.
